Vision Direct Christmas Ad Campaign

Written and produced by Sam Orams and Directed by Russel Owen for Vision Direct’s Christmas campaign.

Gismo the short sighted pug was created as an emotional touch point and as a tool for injecting fun and lovability into an otherwise sterile online eyewear brand.

Production took place in early autumn on location in Tooting, South London.

As there was no snow to speak of Kindred imported every flake, facilitating the transformation of a damp green lawn into a crisp white snowy vista complete with frozen pond.

The campaign went viral generating massive impact online and delivering advertising value multiple times that of spend.

Gizmo enjoyed a modicum of fame following the campaign and went on to feature in Vision Direct’s Christmas campaigns for three years in a row.
