MADE Short Films

Russell Owen worked with design-led furniture creators MADE to produce a series of stylised short stories.

In his treatment Owen introduced the idea of heightened reality, using stylised sound design and stop-frame animation to create a feeling of a living, breathing interior design space in which to showcase MADE’s collaboration with thought leaders from the design community.

This first project with MADE was known as the “Unboxed” series.

In these films, designers were able to showcase their style, aesthetic and way of living as being in harmony with key pieces from the MADE furniture collection.

The films became iconic in their own right. Since their release, they have been much referenced and frequently copied.

Owen managed his creative team throughout production and post, creating a template for future films and a longstanding relationship with MADE.
